Description

"Die Walküre" takes us from the mythical world of gods into the human world: Siegmund and Sieglinde ignite in a forbidden love that breaks all laws and threatens Wotan's power plan. In conflict with Fricka, the god's father recognizes the unfreedom of his hero and sacrifices him. Brünnhilde's rebellion is harshly punished: Wotan puts her into a sleep and surrounds her with a ring of fire, which only a fearless hero can pass through. With the "Ride of the Valkyries" and the "Fire Magic," the music of "Die Walküre" contains some of the most famous scenes from the "Ring." Camilla Nylund and Eric Cutler sing Brünnhilde and Siegmund in the continuation of the Zurich "Ring" interpretation by Andreas Homoki and Gianandrea Noseda.

"Die Walküre" is the second day of the stage festival "Der Ring des Nibelungen" and is performed at the Zurich Opera House. The production by Andreas Homoki and the musical direction of Gianandrea Noseda promise an impressive experience.
