Description

The emperor is a vain rooster. Every day he needs new, magnificent, colorful clothes and repeatedly shows himself to the people in new attire. The people are thrilled – after all, they have the most beautiful and best-dressed emperor in the world. They accept that all the kingdom's money is spent on fabrics and that many other things are lacking. One day, two swindlers appear. They claim to be able to weave the most beautiful fabrics – so unique that no one has ever seen anything like them. However, there is a catch: only those who are clever enough can see the clothes. Those who do not see the unique clothes are considered stupid! No one wants to admit this embarrassment, so everyone pretends to admire the fabrics – including the emperor himself. Only the teacher doubts and fights to expose the fraud, but no one wants to believe her. At the grand parade, the truth finally becomes clear: the emperor is wearing nothing but his underwear. And in the end, it is the children who loudly shout: "The emperor is naked!" "The Emperor's New Clothes" is not only a witty and clever fairy tale by the Danish author HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN (1805–1875), but also a timeless parable about delusion and honesty and about the courage to call things by their name.
