Description

Drama by Florian Zeller Nicolas is 17 and no longer a cheerful, carefree child. Everything around him is too much for him. Growing up, the final year at high school, the separation of the parents, and the new family of the father. He skips school and is aggressive. What is happening to him? At his own request, he moves from his overwhelmed mother to his father Pierre and his new wife. Pierre feels guilty and tries everything to help his son. The move is supposed to bring order back to the son's mind and restore his zest for life. But a failed suicide attempt shows that Nicolas' problems are more serious than assumed. Pierre is desperate, yet he decides not to seek professional help. Will his love be enough to save his son from himself?
Depression is increasingly common among adolescents. About 6% of all teenagers are now affected, and the suicide rate due to depression is rising. The theater production "Tourerleben" aims not only to bring a great drama to the stage but also to raise awareness of this incredibly important issue.
