The Ploughman and Death - Play with Vocal Music

Six hundred years ago, the text "The Ploughman and Death" was considered a small revolution. The resulting play features a person rebelling against the violence and harshness of death and resisting "the divine order." But what does it have to do with us today? This was the challenge faced by director P. W. Hermanns and actors Martin Wangler (Ploughman) and Sibylle Denker (Death) as they approached the text. The result: it has not lost any of its relevance and intensity! Human interaction with death has changed repeatedly since then, but the inevitable remains. Experience and be touched by the passionate, heated debate between the Ploughman and Death, accompanied and underscored by vocal music that touches the soul. All of this takes place in one of the oldest church buildings in the Hochschwarzwald: St. Oswald in the Höllental. On Sunday, 01.11., the Black Forest Association Hinterzarten-Breitnau offers a guided lantern walk from Hinterzarten to the Oswald Chapel. The start is at 5:30 PM at the Kurhaus Hinterzarten, the route - downhill there, uphill back - is about 4 km long and easy to walk. Return to Hinterzarten around 9:30 PM. Important: register for the lantern walk by October 29 via email: wandern@swv-hinterzarten-breitnau.de. Tip: Please dress warmly. The coolness of the old building should not be the only thing that touches the soul.
