Thinking pauses are islands of reflection. Over the years, a shared atmosphere has been created in which all participants feel invited to express their thoughts, experiences, and associations, even if these have not yet solidified into an opinion or position. Less is asserted, represented, or defended than witnessed, concerning and preoccupying us. It is precisely the unfinished nature of the contributions that enables the creative moment, the surprising emergence of sustainable insights. This mood of shared and mutual attention contrasts with the often sobering discourse in the broader public and could serve as a model.
