On the Trail of the Wolf

Description

High above Bad Ragaz lies in a remote side valley St. Margrethenberg. Looking through the valley, the steep slopes of Calandas greet you – where in 2012 the first wolf pack in Switzerland since extinction became native. Together with the gamekeeper, you explore part of the territory and learn what it means to live with wolves and what they contribute to the ecosystem. The gamekeeper provides information about the lifestyle and characteristics of these shy animals, their survival strategies, and family life. It is shown that coexistence between humans and predators is quite possible, even if it leads to much discussion. Thanks to his experience, the gamekeeper can draw from a wealth of stories and tell many wolf tales. However, a direct observation of wolves on this hike is very unlikely.
