For over four decades, Dele Sosimi has shaped the history of Afrobeat. His musical career began in the early 1980s with Fela Kuti's legendary band Egypt 80, later he founded the band Positive Force together with his childhood friend Femi Kuti, with whom he toured worldwide and released numerous recordings. Today, Dele Sosimi is one of the most important ambassadors of Afrobeat. His music combines complex funk grooves, traditional Nigerian sounds, African percussion, and fine jazz influences into an exciting sound. His virtuosic keyboard playing and distinctive singing make him a key figure in the genre. The musician, born in London and now living in Great Britain, is at home on the big stages of the world – from the Montreux Jazz Festival to the Mawazine Festival in Rabat to the Copenhagen Jazz Festival. His openness to musical encounters has led to numerous international collaborations and an impressive discography, ranging from solo albums like "You No Fit Touch Am" to the current project "The Confluence LP" (2024) with Estuary 21. Concert duration 50-65 minutes - Children of all ages are warmly welcome to this concert. - We ensure an appropriate volume, but still recommend hearing protection for the little ones.
