In a performance blending stand-up, conference, manifesto, and nightclub, Habibitch scrutinizes with a sharp and mobile lens the mechanisms of systemic racism and Western colonial denial. Between choreography and engaged speech, the artist transforms the stage into a space of joyful struggle, restoring the body’s place in the debate. A professional dancer, notably a member of the ballroom scene, Habibitch combines the codes of this culture with the historical and political references of her sociology research background, making Decolonize the dancefloor a performance that reflects her persona: embodied, complex, impactful, funny, resilient, engaged, and political. Sorcières&Cie supports committed theater, dance, and circus projects that question the issues and mechanisms of contemporary society.
