For over five centuries, cod has shaped landscapes and human lives. At the heart of a vast triangular trade, it contributed to the rise of the world economy and liberalism. It enabled the independence and rise of the United States, while nourishing the minds and stomachs of millions around the globe. But cod was too beautiful and fell victim to its success. Having become a symbol of mankind's destructive madness, it disappeared. And humans now desperately await its return... But can a cod come back? The question is obviously essential. After "In Search of the Lost Ducks" presented at Pommier last season, Frédéric Ferrer continues to question the upheavals of the world and their connection to territory. In this new theatrical lecture, the sixth in the cycle "Atlas of the Anthropocene," the actor and researcher investigates cod and its tensions, as well as its possible futures. The company Vertical Détour creates shows based on documentary research and scientific collaborations. Structured in cycles such as The Chronicles of Warming, Atlas of the Anthropocene, Borderline(s), and Olympicorama, its creations question the transformations of the world.
