Day of the Šumava Triple Castles / Castle Area

On Monday, September 28, 2026, the Day of the Šumava Triple Castles will take place. On this public holiday, the entire castle area will be accessible independently (without a guide or commentary). Visitors will be able to explore the large courtyard as well as the small one, which features a well and service facilities. They can enter the rooms with models of the castle and go up to the first floor of the New Palace, which serves as a viewpoint, visit the oldest part of the castle (including the tall residential tower, known as the donjon), or explore the intricate cellars. ON THIS DAY, THERE WILL BE NO REGULAR GUIDED TOURS (Palace and Tower routes) AND ACCESS TO THE COURTYARD ONLY (Courtyard route) WILL NOT BE POSSIBLE. Thank you for your understanding.
