Danza: Dance Workshop with Moving Mountain - in Artistic Residency in Poschiavo

Description

Dance workshop with the company Moving Mountains. In their workshop, Moving Mountains provides insight into their movement language, in which they combine contemporary dance with street dance styles. Structured like one of their personal trainings, the workshop starts with a joint improvisation based on the Authentic Movement method. Afterwards, workshop participants are invited to learn core elements such as bounce and groove from street dance styles. To connect the first two parts of the workshop, a small excerpt from the repertoire of the new production, with which Moving Mountains is in residency in Puschlav, is learned together at the end. Come and let's discover together the different facets of these dance styles and how they can be connected! "Moving Mountains" is a dance collective and multidisciplinary creative studio with members from Graubünden, Bern, and St. Gallen. With backgrounds in dance as well as music production, scenography, costume design, communication, and conceptualization, the six-member group specializes in creating unique experiences for theater, film, and events through movement and storytelling. They also enjoy working site-specifically and are inspired by their surroundings. This is also reflected in their dance short film "IN VIADI," filmed in 2024 in the Bündner Alps and shown and awarded at various national and international film festivals. In their choreographies, they combine various street dance styles such as HipHop, Popping, and Breaking with elements of contemporary dance. The group is particularly committed to seeing street dance styles more often on Swiss theater stages. Accompanying event:
January 30 at 5:00 PM: Final presentation (Work in Progress) of the residency program – Punto Rosso
