zapzarap performs the tragicomic classic “Cyrano de Bergerac”—which originally featured some 40 roles—in its own adaptation, staged by just four actors but featuring plenty of music. Cyrano, the virtuoso swordsman with the big nose, is also an accomplished poet. His words strike as surely as his sword. But when it comes to love, the swashbuckler loses his confidence. Because of his large nose, he believes he is unlovable and therefore does not dare to confess his love to Roxanne. Instead, he writes her love letters on behalf of the handsome Christian, who is also in love with Roxanne. Cyrano, Christian, and Roxanne form a fateful ménage à trois, driven by the protagonists and their insecurities: beauty and intelligence.
