Description

Jérôme Rouger has already visited Plan-les-Ouates several times, notably with his unforgettable show Why do chickens prefer to be raised in battery cages? Based on a similar creative principle of "work in progress," he returns with Advice to Spectators.
In the theater, spectators are rarely aware of the influence they exert on the quality of a performance. Who has ever heard a spectator declare at the end of a show: "I was not good"? And yet... With his extensive stage experience and mastery of eloquence, Jérôme Rouger offers, with the humor he's known for, a spectacular conference in the form of a study on the audience, and provides valuable advice along the way.
"The starting point was an initial 30-minute version that I had the opportunity to perform several times during season presentations and which was not necessarily meant to become something else. But a strong interest in this issue of the actor-audience relationship, for the performance and for the audience, made me keep thinking about it, and I accumulated many notes that made me say I hadn't fully completed my approach with this short version." These notes thus became a creation, presented at Théâtre de Belleville, in Paris, in December 2024. Out of respect for the artists and other spectators, we reserve the right to refuse entry to latecomers, without refund or exchange.
