The Karlsruhe Baroque Ensemble invites you to a festive concert at Schloss Favorite. The Karlsruhe Baroque Ensemble will present a festive concert on Sunday, October 4, 2026, in the unique setting of Schloss Favorite, Rastatt-Förch. The Sala Terrena provides the perfect backdrop between baroque splendor and intimate atmosphere. The program features virtuosic instrumental works and splendid vocal pieces from European Baroque, showcasing the diversity and expressive power of this era impressively. A highlight of the evening is the performance by Zink virtuoso Gebhard David, whose instrument's warm and radiant sound vividly brings the baroque sound world to life. The rare to hear "Sonata per il cornetto" by Pietro Baldassare (1683-1768) will be performed, along with the colorful "Sinfonia per cornetto, violini, viola e continuo" by North German composer Johan Daniel Berlin (1714-1787). Both works focus on the historical Zink (Cornetto) with its extraordinary sound character. The traverso will be heard in Antonio Vivaldi's lively flute concerto in G major, RV 435, and will meet the charming recorder concerto by Johann Christoph Schultze, a now unjustly little-known master of late Baroque. The Karlsruhe Baroque Ensemble will perform Georg Philipp Telemann's famous Tafelmusik Suite, blending French elegance with German expressiveness. The vocal highlight of the concert includes three masterpieces of Baroque singing art. From Georg Friedrich Händel's oratorio "Jephtha," the radiant aria "Let the bright Seraphim" will be performed, along with "Lascia omai" from the secular cantata "Il delirio amoroso." Antonio Vivaldi's moving aria "Nulla in mundo pax sincera" is among the most beautiful sacred compositions of the Venetian master. The Karlsruhe Baroque Ensemble adheres to historically informed performance practice, reproducing Baroque music with authentic instruments and historical playing techniques. The ensemble features Michael Fiedler (traverso, violin, viola), Ulrike Bahr (recorder), Gundula Jaene-Wahl and Juliane Lang (violins), Pia Geimer (violin, viola), Dierk Modrow (cello), Rainer David (violone), Henner Kahlert (theorbo, baroque guitar), Wolfram Link (arciliuto), and Bastian Hellinger (harpsichord). The concert begins at 7:00 PM. Tickets are available for 22 euros via Reservix and at the box office of Schloss Favorite in advance. Remaining tickets can be purchased at the door.
