PROGRAMMEI. Stravinsky - Petrouchka S. Prokofiev - Roméo et Juliette, op. 64, excerpts from the ballets‍ ‍Stravinsky gives a heart to a simple piece of wood; it is called Petrouchka. He loves Ballerina, she rejects him, he dies — and his death touches us because we know he existed. His fractured identity remains, that of a being halfway between object and consciousness. When does a puppet cease to be a puppet? Where Petrouchka moved from sawdust to man, Romeo and Juliet go from flesh to myth. Of the two lovers, only the impulses remain in the form of sounds; the ballet stripped of dance still remembers the pulsation of bodies. With the complicity of students of the HEM, a constellation of musicians recalls these passionate and dead souls: “Oh là là, how many splendid loves I have dreamed of.” In partnership with the Haute École de Musique de Genève. Concert made with the support of the Friends of the ESN. LA HAUTE ÉCOLE DE MUSIQUE DE GENÈVE. The HEM, Haute école de musique de Genève and its Neuchâtel site, has been in existence since 2009. It originates from the professional classes of two institutions, on the one hand the Conservatoire de musique de Genève, and on the other the Institut Jaques-Dalcroze. The HEM covers a historical and stylistic range from medieval music to contemporary creation, including non-European musics. It attracts over 600 students from five continents to its two sites. Students are supervised by about a hundred highly qualified teachers and guest speakers active in artistic and academic life. Solidly embedded in the regional cultural scene, the HEM is an internationally renowned artistic and pedagogical community.
