Co Streiff – Russ Johnson Quartet

Description

The sound of Co Streiff's quartet is unmistakable. Their compositions and the finely woven interplay of the band create a dense, atmospheric sound cosmos. The music is characterized by four strong musical personalities: the versatile and powerful double bassist Christian Weber, the experimental sound researcher Gerry Hemingway on drums, the exceptionally flexible and expressive trumpeter Russ Johnson, as well as Co Streiff himself, whose warm, earthy saxophone playing gives the music its unmistakable voice.
