Clothing in the Renaissance - Discussion with Veronika Pilná

As part of the exhibition of replicas of period costumes located on the castle tour route, we invite interested parties to a discussion with Mgr. Veronika Pilná Ph.D. from the Plzeň branch of the National Heritage Institute. You will learn about the materials and cuts that corresponded to noble clothing and how townspeople and peasants dressed during the Renaissance. The choice of suitable color and fabric often determined the social status of the wearer, and fashion was also a popular matter at the royal court. The meeting point for interested parties is at 14:30 in the exhibition area by the ticket office. The discussion takes place in the dance hall of Švihov Castle. Admission is free, but we recommend reserving seats at: svihov@npu.cz.
