Description

To escape oppression and a painful past, Shewit flees Eritrea at the risk of her life. At only 15 years old, after being a prisoner of human traffickers in Libya, she finally joins Switzerland, where she places all her hopes. Seven years later, her future remains uncertain: without a residence permit, she is still waiting for the authorities' decision and threatened with deportation. Despite obstacles, Shewit perseveres and continues her fight to become a free woman. For ten years, filmmaker Anne-Frédérique Widmann follows her journey with an empathetic eye and provides an intimate portrait of a young woman facing the realities of exile, waiting, and the quest for freedom.
