The Chuchchepati Orchestra begins its series at Palace with a unique trio featuring bassist Patrick Kessler, Taiwanese Sheng soloist Li-Chin Li, and Nepali horn speakers. Li-Chin Li, a composer and performer with a background in Western classical and contemporary Chinese music, explores the evolving role of the Sheng in modern practice, using it as a medium to connect sound, body, space, and technology. The energetic performance promises to challenge traditional perceptions of space and sound, creating an immersive experience that transcends conventional boundaries.
