Rhythm and sound: In a new duo, Lucerne guitar virtuoso Christy Doran meets Indian tabla master Imran Khan. Just before the Stanser Musiktage, Christy Doran and Imran Khan recorded their first album. And this fall, an international tour is scheduled. The Stanser audience will thus be able to experience this new duo at the right time: with the sparkling energy of the beginning and yet already well-rehearsed. The two move through lyrical soundscapes, where the sounds of the (mostly) acoustic guitar and the shimmering tabla rhythms challenge each other attractively. The instrumental virtuosity of both is also not neglected. The Irish-Swiss guitarist Christy Doran has always had a great passion for the complex rhythm universe of Indian music. Throughout his artistic career, there have been regular new points of contact and projects: a long-standing collaboration in various projects with the Indian tabla legend Trilok Gurtu (1980-1984) sharpened his interest in Indian rhythm, which ultimately shaped his own musical identity. Doran also expanded his band "New Bag" for several years with the South Indian mridangam master Muthuswami Balasubramoniam as a permanent band member. Imran Khan comes from a traditional musician family and is the grandson of the great master Ustad Faiyaz Khan. His specialty is a gentle and sweet playing style with a clear and warm sound. Imran Khan has played with some of India's greatest artists. He has also accompanied numerous renowned musicians internationally on tours and performed at prestigious festivals. Christy Doran met Imran Khan in the band OPTICKLE by Jan Galega Brönnimann and got to know him on concert tours. Now, the two are touring as a duo Rhythm'n'Sound.

The concert takes place at the ONO Kulturlokal in Bern and presents an exciting fusion of acoustic guitar and tabla rhythms. Christy Doran, an experienced guitarist, and the tabla master Imran Khan bring lyrical soundscapes to the stage.
