Chilbi Einsiedeln

Description

On the last Sunday in August, the traditional Chilbi takes place in Einsiedeln. It lasts three days, with the Verenamarkt happening simultaneously on Monday and Tuesday. The amusement park and the many original "Beizlis," run by local clubs, create a true fairground atmosphere. The Einsiedler Chilbi is one of the largest in the area. Many Einsiedeln residents who no longer live in the monastery village spend the Chilbi days in their old homeland. But you, as visitors from near and far, can also enjoy the festive atmosphere. On Sunday, in reference to the former Sennenbruderschaft, the traditional Chilbi wrestling festival also takes place.
