Description

Paris is divided into zones based on social class and is controlled by a specialized AI. Sci-Fi action thriller starring Adèle Exarchopoulos as a tough cop with a touch of Gen-X. In near-future Paris, the city is divided into three zones that separate social classes. Everywhere, Alma, an AI that has revolutionized the police system and leaves no one escape, rules. When the creator of this system (Louis Garrel) is murdered, Salia (Adèle Exarchopoulos), an elite police officer from Zone 2, and Zem (Gilles Lellouche, director of L’AMOUR OUF), a disillusioned cop from Zone 3, team up to investigate. With a large budget, Chien 51 aims to compete with mainstream films, even though its cast is mostly known from French auteur cinema. The story, although set in the future, seems to be told from a recent past perspective. A certain retro-futuristic effect that is strangely touching. Adèle Exarchopoulos portrays the cool, tough cop with a soft core and a complicated relationship with her jaded partner Zem. Chien 51 joins the genre films that the actress has increasingly starred in recent years (PLANÈTE B, LE RÈGNE ANIMAL).
