Description

Fifty-five-year-old Zdena (Pavla Tomicová) appears to lead an ordinary life as a rural postwoman. However, it's not that simple. Her house is falling apart, and she fights loneliness with cucumbers and television. Her son Lukáš (Jan Cina) lives in France – successful, happy, distant – at least that's how it seems on the screen of the old computer they occasionally use to stay in touch. When Lukáš's grandmother Věra (Věra Janků) expresses her last wish – to see Helena Vondráčková – it seems like a whim of a dying woman. However, with Lukáš's arrival home comes a secret he has carefully guarded for years. His visit triggers an avalanche: it turns out he is gay and makes a living as a successful drag queen, Chica Checa. It also reveals that Zdena longs for a different life than what her surroundings expect. The effort to please her ninety-year-old grandmother brings Lukáš and Zdena together and may even surprise them both.
