Johann Sebastian Bach and Georg Friedrich Händel are among the greatest masters of Baroque music. Although they were born in the same year (1685), they created very different styles in chamber music.
The chamber music of Johann Sebastian Bach is characterized by a fascinating combination of strict craftsmanship and deep expression. Unlike in the later Viennese Classical period, the term "chamber music" was not yet fully defined in the Baroque era, but for Bach, it includes works for small ensembles without choir or large orchestra.
