Cattle show Walzenhausen

Description

To the delight of the numerous spectators, individual farmers parade in the traditional Alpine style, i. e. in the same order as for the Alpabzug and in the appropriate traditional costume in yellow pants with a red breast cloth or the working day costume from outside Rhodes. Everyone enters the area under a wooden triumphal arch decorated with fir branches, flowers and ribbons. The cattle are tethered to long poles according to predetermined categories. The judging panel, consisting of experienced farmers, now begins its work. They judge the animals according to their beauty and performance and rank them in the correct order. The most beautiful animals are decorated with a wreath of paper flowers. Young breeders are also allowed to take part in many shows and exhibit their goats. • From 13:30 the award ceremony takes place
• At 16:00 hrs is "Abloo": the animals are brought back to the farms.
• The cattle show evening is on Friday, Oct. 4 at 7.30 pm in the multi-purpose hall in Walzenhausen. This is followed by a cozy party with singing, cheering and dancing. Good to know: - Festive restaurant, chestnuts + sausages at the school building
• Playground next to the fairground
• Parking: at the Wilen parking lot
• Some of the farmers come from Lachen and walk through the whole village to Wilen. The farmers from St. Margrethen come to the festival site by cattle trailer.
• The journey from Oberegg or Berneck should be possible without any problems.
