Catalyst release a four-song EP titled «EPNAME». Recently, the St. Gallen duo of Dominic Curseri and Ramon Wehrle released their second album «Double Sky» in 2023 and now returns with the single «CCTV» (23.01.2026, Radicalis Music).
«Your Honor, that is not me on the CCTV. No, that’s my evil twin.» - «CCTV» starts brutally with huge guitars and explosive drums. The evil twin acts more violently, consumes thoughtlessly, and behaves like a Neanderthal – driven by (nasty) instincts. With the characteristic mix of hard, bluesy guitar riffs, massive rock drums, and laconic lyrics, the power duo hits us with stoner rock, criticism of capitalism, and irony. This reminds one of Dead Weather and Queens Of The Stone Age, yet sounds fresh and unspoiled in 2026.
«AAA Battery», «Easy to say» and «Steel Cap Slippers» complete the EP quartet. Catalyst remains true to themselves here as well, never repeating or drifting into the mundane. One guitar riff chases the next, the drums get louder with each fill, and despite dystopian-capitalist imagery, one can't help but smile between pedicures with steel caps («Steel Cap Slippers»), trickle-down effects («AAA Battery»), and short fuses («Easy To Say»). This makes «EPNAME» an extremely entertaining, fun, and wild listening experience - Catalyst shows once again why they are such a refreshing duo in the Swiss alternative scene. Corokia
