Description
To conclude the Carte blanche at the Neuchâtel Conservatory of Music, LeChœur directed by Nicolas Farine offers a program connecting Bach, Whitacre, Alain Tissot, and Mendelssohn. Bach's motet Komm, Jesu, komm, probably composed in Leipzig around 1723, remains one of the most beautiful examples of Lutheran spirituality. Whitacre's pages feature very contemporary choral writing, while Alain Tissot's world premiere continues this living tradition. Mendelssohn's psalm highlights the vitality of the Romantic choir in the 19th century. This evening showcases the quality of training at CMNE and the ability of a conservatory to foster dialogue between learning, creation, and transmission.
