Description
Café Balance is a program that promotes both the physical and mental health of the elderly population. The method is well-researched scientifically and its effectiveness has been proven. The risk of falls is reduced. The rhythmics course improves gait safety and decreases the risk of falling. Afterward, there is a coffee gathering centered around socializing. We conduct Café Balance in collaboration with the "Verein für Erwachsenen- und Seniorenrhythmik nach Dalcroze" in communities that provide a suitable space with an instrument. What is Café Balance? The course teaches the Jaques-Dalcroze rhythmics named after its inventor. The movement exercises tailored to participants are accompanied live by piano music. They have a positive effect on gait safety and thus reduce the risk of falls. Participants can be from 65 years old. No prior knowledge is necessary, and one can easily join the class at any time, even if mobility is already limited. After the rhythmics exercises, coffee gatherings are held.
