"Buchstart" for little library visitors

Description

An event for the smallest library visitors and their companions. Well-known and new verses, rhymes, and songs are experienced together, along with a story by Eulalia. A minibook with the learned rhymes is a must, so the verses and songs can be continued at home and language practiced.

Buchstart is a nationwide Swiss project for early language development. Buchstart promotes the first encounter of children with books. The target group of Buchstart are children aged 0-3 years and their parents and adult caregivers.

Children who grow up with books from the beginning have an advantage. They learn early on how much fun pictures and books can be and take the joy of reading and learning with them for life. With the book gift, Buchstart encourages parents to actively communicate with their child from the very first moment and to familiarize them with picture books from about six months of age.

Picture books are not only a great help in language acquisition, they also promote a culture of conversation within the family and offer comfort and security. The goal of Buchstart is to give all children the opportunity to grow up with books from the start.
