Description
It's here! The new record we've all been eagerly waiting for! Friedhof der Moral comes from none other than Brezel Göring! Brezel Göring – the grand dame of Berlin chanson or chanson kaputt, the sparkling punk princess of Kreuzberg, who bounces off every musical expectation with glamour and anarchistic humor like a pinball – playfully and masterfully switching between countless genres and rushing unrestrained from one attraction to the next! Where on the previous album Psychoanalyse Volume 2 question marks adorned the back cover, they should actually be exclamation marks here, because the record has character, is captivating, fast-paced, uplifting, very playful, and extremely multifaceted. Above all, it is extreme. Thematically, lyrically, and musically. References to classical music, Japanese blues, disco, punk, hip-hop, and of course French chansons can be found. Friedhof der Moral is a musical fireworks display, linguistically powerful, full of cinematic short scenes, and makes our synapses glow. We enthusiastically embark on the rapid journey into Brezel Göring's musical universe – an uncontrollable, wild, and boundless journey. Right at the beginning, we fly through space, cross the entire planetary system, later drive over Italy, France, and Greece directly to Chernobyl, stop at the hour hotel, but prefer to stay in Berlin, wander along the (Kreuzberg) Oranienstraße, and at the street corner, welcome spring, then circle like a UFO over this shitty city, and finally, the journey continues darkly and melancholically into the afterlife... It ends with a gentle, longing note, with lovely melodies and tender singing, a farewell song to Françoise Cactus. Loneliness, darkness, longing, and death are recurring motifs in these 13 pieces, and there is again much to report from the theme world of psychoanalysis: it’s about obsessions, drugs, interpersonal problems, breakups, the past, and hopelessness. The lyrics are profound and deep, yet reliably entertaining, poetic, rabid, original, and insanely funny. We rush towards fire extinguishers, fast food, pinball machines, fantastic vehicles, are sexually charged, never forgive, and ultimately bury our morals.
Brezel Göring stays true to herself and reinvents herself. And she has brought traveling companions on board with Friedhof der Moral. Her band Psychoanalyse is an illusion
