The world does not want to settle down. Instead of words, bombs are falling, and international law is hardly being used anymore. We are fighting yesterday's wars, while the overarching problems of our time remain unresolved. "Drill baby, drill" echoes the peace prince in the White House. Europe is under pressure – and fighting to stay connected. In Helvetistan, perpetual neutrality is to be enshrined in the constitution as well as a population ceiling of 10 million; as if the good old days could be regained in this way. As always, helpful questions are as important to us as seemingly true answers. The most important concern of the lecture series remains to familiarize with fundamental concepts, new and recurring configurations of international politics through the analytical examination of specific focal points.
