Bratři Ebenové – a band of three brothers Eben (Marek, Kryštof, David) and other leading Czech musicians (Pavel Skála, Jaromír Honzák, and Jiří Zelenka). At the time of the release of their first album "Malé písně do tmy" (1984), the band operated as a brother trio - Marek, Kryštof, and David and were completely unique in the Czech music scene with their approach. The sons of the significant composer Petr Eben (1929 – 2007) received classical music education, while also absorbing influences from modern folk, jazz, and rock music. Their ability to draw from all these sources and the art of using various unusual musical instruments resulted in an absolutely non-traditional, inimitable "Eben sound" on the Czech scene. Additionally, combined with Marek's exceptional lyrics, Bratři Ebenové have been and continue to be unique in the Czech music scene. On September 1, 2023, the band released their 6th studio album titled "Co my víme". The album contains 13 new tracks (one less on the LP). All music and lyrics are by Marek Eben, except for the instrumental piece Clafoutis, authored by the youngest brother David. The album was recorded at Birdland studios (Povážská Bystrica) by the band's sound engineer Tomáš Jakl and under the supervision of the band's producer and guitarist Pavel Skála. Besides Marek, Kryštof, and David Eben, the band includes Pavel Skála (guitar), Jiří Zelenka (drums and percussion), and Jaromír Honzák (double bass and bass guitar). The album will also feature several guests – Pavel Fischer on violin or the children's choir Radost Praha with conductor Jan Pirner. The mixing of the album was handled by the legendary British sound engineer Phill Brown, a well-known figure in the music industry who has worked with icons such as Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Cat Stevens, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, and Dido, among many others. Mastering was entrusted to the equally famous British engineer Denis Blackham. The graphics were handled by the band's long-time collaborator, Karel Haloun, with Luďek Kubík. The album's photography was taken by Dušan Tománek. The band members are Marek Eben - vocals, guitar, keyboards; Kryštof Eben - vocals, flutes, keyboards; David Eben - saxophone, clarinet, vocals; Pavel Skála - guitars; Jiří Zelenka - drums; Jaromír Honzák - double bass.
