For over 40 years, Dieter Schonlau and Sandra Hanke have been exploring the rainforests of the Earth. The indigenous people of Borneo show them a wondrous world with flying frogs, glowing mushrooms, perfectly camouflaged insects, rare dwarf elephants, and mighty orangutans. Accompanied by an authentic soundscape, Dieter Schonlau presents a best-of from over 4000 nights under the jungle canopy in his current show. The age of Borneo's majestic rainforests is estimated to be over 120 million years. Plenty of time for nature to create an incomparable flora and fauna. In this dreamlike setting, Dieter Schonlau spends most of his life – fulfilling not only a childhood dream but also becoming a worldwide expert and multi-award-winning nature photographer. His wife Sandra Hanke and he are known as specialists in revealing small, nearly invisible animals on the screen and making them visible with emotional aha moments. It’s not enough to just walk through the rainforest and look for animals – waiting is key. They learn what it smells like when howler monkeys are nearby or how the cracking sounds when an orangutan traverses the treetops of the primeval giants. With infinite patience and dedication, they manage to capture images that impress scientists and enchant audiences with unforgettable experiences and emotional moments.
