Bläserserenaden Zürich - MOZART & DIE MODERNE

Description

The program of the last concert of the season includes the world premiere of the composition commissioned this year from Helena Winkelman and a new version of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's famous piano concerto in A major. There is already a version for string quintet of Mozart's piano concerto KV488, arranged by composer Ignaz Lachner in 1881. However, since the orchestral version is rich in important solos for wind instruments, an arrangement for wind instruments and piano is naturally necessary. Both the piano concerto and the KV 452 quintet for piano and wind instruments were composed in 1784, during an extremely productive period of his life. Helena Winkelman is among the most important Swiss composers. Her work is very extensive. So far, she has mainly written works for string ensembles. We are delighted that she is now composing a wind and piano quartet as part of the Bläserserenaden Zürich. Performers: Andrea Kollé, flute; Leonid Surkov, oboe; Fabio Di Càsola, clarinet; Mischa Greull, horn; Maria Wildhaber, bassoon; Alexander Boeschoten, piano.
