Bitchin Bajas are a Chicago-based trio consisting of Cooper Crain, Rob Frye, and Daniel Quinlivan. Since their formation in 2010, the group has developed a distinctive approach to ambient and experimental music, blending synthesizers, woodwind instruments, organs, and acoustic instruments into slowly unfolding, hypnotic compositions. Inspired by minimalism, 'cosmic music,' jazz, and electronic music, Bitchin Bajas create immersive sound worlds based on repetition, texture, and gradual transformation. Over the years, the trio has produced an extensive body of work—mostly released through the Drag City label—and collaborated with artists like Bonnie 'Prince' Billy and the Natural Information Society. Bitchin Bajas have performed at festivals such as Big Ears, Pitchfork Music Festival, Le Guess Who?, and Jazzfest Berlin, presenting their immersive live performances to audiences across North America and Europe. Their latest album, *Inland See*, was released in 2025 and continues the trio's exploration of electroacoustic synthesis, rhythm, and expansive, post-ambient sounds.
