In the park and garden area of the Health Center for the Elderly Klus Park Zürich - a green oasis in the midst of the urban environment – there is a Gartenkind learning garden. From early April to the end of September, accompanied garden afternoons for children take place on Wednesday afternoons and on selected Saturdays. The garden gates are also open outside the supervised times and invite independent visits.
On an area of about 250 m² in the eastern part of Kluspark, there is a natural, biodiverse nature and utility garden where children and adults can garden, learn about nature, and be inspired by the beauty and diversity of a natural garden. The utility garden and areas for native wild plants and natural elements are maintained according to organic criteria and developed with the help of permaculture approaches. During the open afternoons in the Lerngarten Kluspark – every Wednesday except during spring and autumn holidays – children, together with biologist and environmental educator Rachel Imboden and her team, grow vegetables, herbs, and flowers, explore the soil, and observe insects. The garden is also used for courses, workshops, guided excursions, and tours for school classes and other external target groups.

General Information

The Bioterra Gartenkind Lerngarten in Kluspark Zürich offers children the opportunity to actively experience nature and gardening. Events take place on Wednesdays and selected Saturdays and are open for independent visits outside supervised times. The garden is also used for courses, workshops, and excursions.
