Description

The lecture, led by Prof. Dr. Dr. med. Frank Rühli, explores how mummies and skeletons serve as unique biomedical sources to understand the origins of diseases relevant today. Using advanced imaging and molecular techniques, the presentation examines historical and prehistoric human remains, including Ötzi the Iceman, Pharaoh Tutankhamun, and larger Egyptian burial sites. Ethical considerations of such scientific analyses will also be discussed.
