• A journey through travel stories in support of the Stella Respite Service. Together, we will explore paths that are not just about the kilometers walked or the destination reached. In addition to beautiful places and unforgettable experiences, we will also encounter moments when the journey was not just about physical endurance, but primarily about determination, mental strength, and the ability to persevere when the path is not easy. We will traverse the long Pacific Crest Trail and journey across Croatia in ways you may not yet know. All proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to support the Stella Respite Service – an organization from České Budějovice that helps families with the daily care of children with disabilities and developmental challenges. The funds will be used to ensure the operation of the respite service. More about Stella can be found at www.sluzbastella.cz. Between Mountains and Sky is a 4,265-kilometer journey along the Pacific Crest Trail across the western United States. Deserts, snowy mountain passes, endless ridges, lakes, and encounters with people who can turn from random travel companions into lifelong friends. The story of Petra Potužáková, who embarked on one of the most famous long-distance trails in the world, will share what the journey brought her. About the moments when one runs out of strength, when one must overcome discomfort, uncertainty, and personal limits, but also about small joys – blueberries, swimming in a lake, unexpected meetings, or evenings when the company of others means more than anything else. A lecture about a journey that hurts, surprises, teaches humility and perseverance, and shows how little is sometimes needed for happiness. About why it is worth continuing even when one can no longer go on – and why one ultimately takes away much more from the mountains than just memories of thousands of kilometers walked. Program changes reserved. All proceeds from ticket sales, after deducting a 5% administrative fee, will be donated to support the operation of the Stella Respite Service.
