The observatory on the Gurten allows you to look into a faraway world, away from the light and noise of the city. Join us on a journey into space on Bern's local mountain.
The observatory offers the general public a detailed insight into physical and other scientific phenomena in space. Every Tuesday, public observation evenings take place under professional supervision by the Astro Events association. Various celestial events are clearly explained and can be observed with a telescope.
First tour:
Start: 7:00 PM
End: 8:45 PM
Last Gurtenbahn ride: 11:45 PM
Location: Observatory, Gurten – Park im Grünen
The events take place in all weather conditions. In case of bad weather, an alternative program is held in a seminar room.
The observation evenings are conducted in cooperation with Astro Events
and take place in German.
