2026 marks a new chapter for this traditional event: BERNEXPO AG has taken over the Berner Weinmesse and will continue the successful format itself. The original since 1974 combines its long history with new ideas and additional experience formats. From classics to non-alcoholic alternatives, the focus in 2026 is also on the Oenothek. Around 2,000 wines from Switzerland and international wine regions invite discovery and tasting. The range extends from established classics to rarities and exciting new products. The Berner Weinmesse also shows how diverse the wine world is developing. Non-alcoholic and reduced-alcohol wines are just as much part of the offer as traditional wine styles. Expert exhibitors are available for personal consultations and provide insights into origin, production, and current developments. Highlighting Bernese winemakers, 2026 places special emphasis on the Bernese wine region. Winemakers from the Canton of Bern present their wines personally and share insights into their work, from the vineyards on Lake Biel to the vineyards on Lake Thun. A highlight is the evening "Bärner Winzer z Bärn" on Monday, October 12, 2026. About 24 Bernese winemakers will present their best bottles and be available for conversations and tastings. The winners of the "Bernese Wine of the Year 2026" and "Bernese Winemaker of the Year 2026" awards will also be present. This allows visitors to get to know the regional diversity directly from the producers. New on Sunday: "Sprudel & Austern" and opening hours. In 2026, a new indulgence format will be added: "Sprudel & Austern" combines sparkling wines with fresh oysters and invites for a relaxed Sunday enjoyment. The new format takes place on Sundays from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Registration is not required.
