Description

Richard, Duke of Gloucester, is hunchbacked and limps. He despises dance and festivities. He prefers war over peace. Deceived by external appearances of nature, he decides to become a villain and evil-doer, eliminating anyone who blocks his path to the throne. Through clever intrigue, Richard incites King Edward against his brother George, who is then thrown into the Tower. After successfully charming Princess Anne, his goal seems within reach. "Lafrenz needs as few props as possible, yet his repertoire of mimicry and theatrical expression is rich. He stumbles, limps, wavers, gallops, and struts across the stage. Virtuously, he flatters, seduces, incites, whines, grumbles, mocks, laments, and curses his way through the game of power and greed! Lafrenz is bursting with playfulness and quirky ideas!"
