Description

How can classical music and club culture be connected across generations? Formats like the Berlin-founded «Yellow Lounge» or «TonhalleLATE» in Zurich have shown how classical live acts and club atmosphere can open new spaces for music. Now the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra is further developing this idea in Lucerne – not in the classical setting of the KKL Lucerne, but in the cultural biotope of Neubad Lucerne. Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, which also challenged conventions, will be played. The so-called Fate Symphony emphatically demands freedom and paves its way into an uncertain future with triumphant fanfares. The performance itself also recalls Beethoven's skepticism towards authorities: The Lucerne Symphony Orchestra plays without a conductor under the direction of concertmaster Gregory Ahss. After the symphonic power in the former swimming pool, the evening continues in the club of the cultural center. “Beethoven (on the) Rocks” becomes a club night at Neubad – and a concert evening like Lucerne has never experienced before.
