Through their interplay, these musicians tirelessly affirm their spiritual claim and their need to free themselves from all forms of constraints. In doing so, they continue a tradition that relatively few formations today can claim. One immediately thinks of the apostles of so-called Spiritual Jazz, whose heyday spanned from the mid-1960s to the mid-1970s. This music is strikingly relevant today.
