Description
With elements of stand-up, satire, and reading, Bänz Friedli has created his very own style: his narrative cabaret, which can be radically political and radically personal at the same time. In his sixth solo program, the dialect virtuoso and parodist unfolds all his skills: He stumbles upon surprising finds from his own childhood, tries to make sense of the present in a dialogue with his grandmother and a future granddaughter, and looks into the future: How can we maintain confidence in dark times? Because he always responds to the location and current events, every evening with Bänz Friedli is unique. “He oscillates between profound political satire, biting social analysis, and parodistic everyday observations. And he actually manages to be both nuanced and pointed at the same time,” noted Stefan Welzel in the “Luzerner Zeitung.” Whether as a cabaret artist, columnist, radio satirist, or author – BÄNZ FRIEDLI is always a storyteller who draws from everyday life. With “Gömmer Starbucks?”, his evening about young people and their slang and quirks, the native Bernese established himself in 2013 as a fixture on Swiss stages. In 2015, Friedli was honored with the “Salzburger Stier,” probably the most important cabaret award in the German-speaking world. With his current cabaret program “Bänz Friedli cleans up,” he is already a guest for the sixth time at the Stadttheater Schaffhausen.
