Description

In a society where everything seems possible, Aïcha M’Barek and Hafiz Dhaou ask essential questions: How to be oneself? Who would we be without injunctions or self-censorship? On stage, seven dancers, two musicians, and thirty participants invent a different world, a space to free oneself from roles and prejudices. Clandestinity becomes a playground: we hide there, expose ourselves, transform ourselves, and anonymity contrasts with the instant fame of social networks. Bodies leap and let themselves be traversed by a continuous musical flow until the piece shifts towards a free and collective celebration, between the 'before' and the 'after'. No matter where we come from, dance unites, drives, and carries us away, and identities move and reinvent themselves in a shared momentum. Without speech but close to sensations, Bal Clandestin captures this rare moment of surrender, where barriers fall to experience together a new shared freedom.
