Description

A boy wakes up in the middle of the night and sees his room transform. In the darkness, he encounters a whimsical duo, both clowns, guardian angels, and troublemakers, who enjoy creating obstacles along his path. Together, they go through a series of trials, groping in a world that slips away. At the intersection of contemporary dance and object theater, Philippe Saire plays with transformation: before our eyes, simple tarps come to life to become landscapes, shelters, or creatures, and what seemed threatening sometimes reveals itself as familiar, almost playful. A major figure in Swiss contemporary dance, the choreographer draws inspiration from visual arts and cinema. Following the bold Cut (performed in 2016), he continues his exploration for young audiences with a highly precise visual storytelling.
