A breaking dance piece "Peace, love, unity and having fun" - isn't that what it's called in HipHop? But who enjoys it, who is part of the unity? Who is considered and who isn't? Pia Ringel, Azuka Angulo, and Ida Winter stand up for themselves in B-Girl Battles and talk about sexism, norms, and injustices they encounter in the breaking scene. In harmony with the music, their sneakers dance across the floor. Their bodies form statements, whirl and scream, spin in circles, and hit the ground with facts.
In B-Girl Battles, dancers raise gender questions and make them visible through personal stories. On stage, they reproduce and criticize the status quo and suggest how it could be made more feminist.
