AV HUB Olomouc opens its doors! Join us on Wednesday, October 14, to celebrate the launch of a new space for film and audiovisual education at the Waiting Room in Olomouc-město train station. AV HUB Olomouc is established under the auspices of the Association for Film and Audiovisual Education (AsFAV), which connects film and audiovisual education across the Czech Republic through a network of AV Hubs. Olomouc thus becomes the seventh location in the Czech Republic where this space for education, collaboration, and meeting is created. AV HUB aims to connect schools, educators, trainers, cultural institutions, and everyone interested in film and audiovisual creation. It will offer screenings, educational programs, workshops, methodological support, and a space for meeting and sharing experiences. And now is the time to officially open it together. An afternoon and evening full of film and audiovisual entertainment for children and adults awaits you. Children will have the opportunity to try out how film dubbing is created during a joint sound recording of a silent film. At 5:30 PM, we will ceremonially cut the ribbon and then introduce the AV HUB itself, its focus, and what will be happening in the Waiting Room in the coming months. In the evening, we will return to the roots of cinematography – a screening of a silent comedy accompanied by a live DJ set awaits us. Throughout the event, there will be a children's corner, refreshments, and something to warm you up in the form of beer or mulled wine. PROGRAM October 14, 2026
