Autism Spectrum Disorders in Adults

Description

Television series and movies are increasingly featuring "quotient autistics" as a form of decoration. Consequently, it may give the impression that autism is just a trend diagnosis. At the same time, despite the media "autism wave," little has changed in psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care for adults with autism over the past decades. Those affected still face the problem that almost no one feels responsible for them in the psychiatric-psychotherapeutic field, even though autism spectrum disorders (ASD) also lead to a high percentage of psychiatric comorbidities and significant suffering in adulthood. A lecture by PD Dr. med. Dr. phil. Andreas Riedel from the Psychiatry of Lucerne. Source: thurgaukultur.ch - the cultural portal for Thurgau, with dates, topics & people who give talks.
