Augustin Rebetez: My Heart Is Full of You

Description

Augustin Rebetez (*1986 in Delémont, lives and works in Mervelier (Jura) and Bôle (Neuchâtel)) creates installations from various media, including photography, sculpture, and video. Under the aesthetics of punk, his work unites themes such as capitalism, consumer criticism, cult, culture, and art. His works reject hierarchies and combine high and pop culture, subculture and spirituality, seriousness and irony into an anarchic unity. For the Kunsthalle Arbon, Rebetez creates a new immersive installation: a nest of inflatable snakes spreads fear and terror in the exhibition space. The sculpture is both imposing, sensitive, and entertaining. In a playful and subversive way, it questions our relationship with our inner demons, love, and what we leave behind: our skins and our muses.
